Autocloz + Mailercloud

Mailercloud connects to Autocloz as an SMTP relay using the Server, username and password from Mailercloud's Sending Domains → SMTP screen. On the Mailboxes page choose Email service → Mailercloud and paste all three. Unlike the other presets, the SMTP host is editable here, because Mailercloud shows it only inside your dashboard and it may differ per account; Autocloz defaults to smtp.mailercloud.com on port 587. It tests the login before saving. Connect your reply inbox too for the Unibox.

What you can do with Mailercloud

Mailercloud plugs into the Email stack — connect via oauth or smtp/imap, scoped to your workspace.

Editable host

Mailercloud is the one preset where you can override the SMTP host, so the exact Server value from your dashboard is used.

Sending-domain credentials

The username and password come from the sending domain's SMTP page, not your Mailercloud login.

Host cannot be spoofed elsewhere

Host override is accepted only for Mailercloud; other presets ignore it so their vetted host is always used.

How to connect Mailercloud

Connect via OAuth or SMTP/IMAP — you keep control of the account, the spend and the data boundary.

  1. 1

    Set up a sending domain

In Mailercloud add the domain under Sending Domains and complete DNS verification.

  2. 2

    Open the SMTP screen

Sending Domains → SMTP. Copy the Server, username and password.

  3. 3

    Connect in Autocloz

Mailboxes → Connect mailbox → Email service → Mailercloud. Paste the Server into the host field, then the username and password.

  4. 4

    Test and set limits

Send a test and set daily limits to fit your Mailercloud plan.

Checking the connection later

If Mailercloud sends start failing, open a failed touch on a lead. Autocloz stores Mailercloud's SMTP response there. An authentication error means the SMTP password changed; a connection error usually means the Server value changed in your dashboard and needs pasting again.

Settings Autocloz uses for Mailercloud

From the Mailercloud preset:

  • Host: smtp.mailercloud.com by default, or the Server you paste
  • Port: 587 with STARTTLS
  • Username: the SMTP username from Sending Domains → SMTP
  • Password: the SMTP password from the same page

Replies with Mailercloud

Mailercloud sends; it does not return replies to Autocloz. Set Reply-To on the Mailercloud mailbox to an address connected to Autocloz over OAuth or IMAP so replies land in the Unibox and stop the sequence for that lead.

If Mailercloud is not offered

Your platform super-admin can switch individual email service providers off, for everyone or for one workspace. A switched-off provider is hidden from the Email service list and a direct connect attempt returns a 403 saying so. Ask your administrator to enable it.

Why the Mailercloud host is editable

Most providers publish one SMTP host, and Autocloz hard-codes it so nobody can accidentally point a preset elsewhere. Mailercloud documents its host only inside the dashboard, and it may be account- or region-specific. So the Mailercloud preset ships a sensible default and lets you paste your exact Server value. If you leave it blank, smtp.mailercloud.com is used.

Mailercloud in an outbound workflow

Mailercloud delivers the email step. Autocloz decides who is contacted, in what order, and stops follow-ups on reply or unsubscribe. If you send to cold lists, verify addresses first and keep each mailbox's volume modest; email verification and catch-all handling explain why.

What Mailercloud does not do in Autocloz

  • No Mailercloud list, campaign or template sync.
  • No reply reading through Mailercloud.
  • No HTTP API sending; SMTP only.

Troubleshooting Mailercloud

Connection refused or timeout.
Paste the exact Server value from Sending Domains → SMTP into the host field.
535 on connect.
Use the SMTP username and password from the sending domain page, not your account login.

Part of the Email stack

Mailercloud is one of the providers behind the Email channel. All mailboxes share the same sequencing, unified inbox, and deliverability tooling regardless of provider.

Frequently asked

Do I have to enter a host?

Only if your dashboard shows a Server other than smtp.mailercloud.com.

Does Autocloz sync Mailercloud contacts?

No. Contacts live in the Autocloz CRM. Mailercloud only relays the messages Autocloz sends.

Can I use Mailercloud for several domains?

Yes. Each sending domain has its own SMTP credentials; connect each from-address as a separate mailbox.

What happens when a Mailercloud send fails?

It is recorded as failed on the lead with Mailercloud's response, and the rest of the campaign keeps going.
