A lead database you are allowed to keep.
Autocloz includes a searchable database of business records — company, category, address, phone, website and business email — built on openly licensed public data. Filter by industry, country and city, verify the addresses, and push straight into a sequence. It is included on every plan, including free, and the export is yours to keep.
Search it like a list, not like a database
Narrow by industry, country and city, then keep only the rows you can actually act on.
Four things that make it different
Complete records only
A business enters the corpus only if it has a website, a phone number and a business email. That rule removes the phone-only and no-website segments by construction, so you are not paying attention to rows you can never contact.
Yours to export
The business layer is openly licensed under CDLA-Permissive-2.0, which permits redistribution. Export to CSV and the file stays yours — including after you cancel. Most vendors license you the right to look, not the right to leave.
Sourced in the open
Open business datasets, company websites that allow crawling, and public company registries. Every person record stores the exact page it was read from, so its origin can always be answered for.
Verification you can act on
Addresses are checked against DNS, MX and SMTP and returned as one of four states — deliverable, undeliverable, risky or unknown. Only a confirmed mailbox is ever marked sendable.
What we refuse to use, and why
Most of what makes a contact database large is also what makes it a liability. These are the sources we left out on purpose.
| Excluded | Reason |
|---|---|
| LinkedIn scraping | hiQ won on the CFAA point and then lost on contract; the 2022 judgment permanently enjoined it from scraping. Meta v. Bright Data reinforced that terms-as-contract survive independently. |
| Breach data | Resold breach dumps are the substrate behind most “unlimited contacts” offers. They are unlawful to process and they poison a sending domain. |
| Personal mobile numbers | No free lawful bulk source exists. Under India's DPDP Act a phone number is consented personal data. Business landlines are a different thing, and those we do hold. |
| Google Maps copying | Maps Platform terms prohibit copying and saving business names, addresses and reviews. There is no compliant path to an exportable database from it, even with a paid key. |
Built to be answerable for
The crawler identifies itself
Every request carries AutoclozBot/1.0 and links to a page explaining how to block it. robots.txt is read first, rules naming us take priority, and an unreachable robots.txt means we do not crawl at all.
Every record knows where it came from
Person records store the exact source URL. That is what makes a removal request answerable rather than approximate — see the prospecting section of the privacy policy.
Getting out takes one step
No account, no reason required. The record is deleted and added to a do-not-contact list so it cannot be sent to by anyone on the platform.
Questions
Is the lead database really included on the free plan?
Yes. Prospecting is not a locked module — searching the corpus is available on every plan including free. Volume-based limits apply to email verification, which is metered per day per plan.
Can I keep the data if I cancel?
Yes, for the business layer. It is licensed under CDLA-Permissive-2.0, which permits redistribution, so an export you have already taken remains yours. Exports carry the required attribution line.
How do you find work email addresses?
Two ways, kept separate on purpose. Some are published by the company itself. Others are derived from the domain's confirmed naming pattern — that is an inference, not an address anyone published, so we do not keep it: a derived candidate is verified and then either stored because a mailbox answered, or discarded. We hold the pattern, never a guess we invented about a person.
Why do some rows say catch-all instead of verified?
Because a catch-all domain accepts mail for every address, real or not, so the mailbox genuinely cannot be confirmed. Between 20% and 40% of B2B domains behave this way. Calling those verified would be selling you a bounce, and bounces damage the domain you send from.
Someone's details are in the database and they want out. What happens?
Email privacy@autocloz.com or use the form at /bot. No account is needed and no reason is required. The record is removed and added to a do-not-contact list so it cannot be sent to. See the prospecting section of the privacy policy for the full rights notice.
Do you crawl sites that ask not to be crawled?
No. AutoclozBot reads robots.txt first on every site, obeys rules addressed to it by name, honours the declared crawl-delay, and treats an unreachable robots.txt as a refusal rather than permission.
