WhatsApp templates, checked before they send

Business-initiated WhatsApp requires an approved template. Autocloz reads approval status live and blocks sends that would be rejected.

What it does

WhatsApp steps sit in the same sequences as email, calls and SMS. Any message that starts a conversation uses a template Meta has approved, and Autocloz checks template status before dispatch rather than letting the send fail at the API.

Sends are also held against your current messaging limit, so a campaign larger than your tier cannot burn quality rating discovering the ceiling.

Setting it up

1. Set up a WhatsApp Business account and complete Meta business verification.
2. Create and submit your templates, categorised honestly as marketing, utility or authentication.
3. Connect the account in Autocloz.
4. Add WhatsApp steps to a sequence, selecting from approved templates only.
5. Start small and watch the quality rating before scaling volume.

Limits worth knowing

• Messaging limits cap how many unique users you can start conversations with in 24 hours, typically starting at 250.
• Quality rating falls fast on user blocks and reports, and a sustained red rating reduces your limit.
• Meta prices conversations by category and country, billed by Meta rather than Autocloz.
• Miscategorising marketing as utility risks template rejection and account action.
